The SIKA gearwheel flow meters are used to measure flow rates at high or varying viscosities used for consumption measurement, dosage of oils and chemicals, control of filling operations, flow measurement of paints and varnishes.

The measuring element comprises a precisely adjusted gear pair within the casing and the inflowing medium makes the gear pair rotate. This rotary motion is scanned by contactless sensors. A high resolution result is achieved as each individual tooth generates a pulse. This allows even the smallest volumes or dosed precisely. Two pick-offs in the unit are circumferentially offset by 1/4 of a tooth pitch and this helps to generate a 2 channel flow proportional frequency signal. Maximum pressure drop should not exceed 16 bar.
