The CS-580 is manufactured by Eltra, and is an analyzer that is ideal for use in accurate gauging of carbon and sulfur content in solid and fluid elements such as ashes, building materials, coal, coke, gypsum, ashes, limestone, oil, plant materials, rubber, leaves, sand, soils, soot, tobacco, waste, sand, glass, and oil. The unit has the capacity to gauge from ppm levels up to 100%.

The temperature can be configured ranging from 1 °C up to 1,550 °C which is needed for the oxidation of the sample. The unit can be integrated with up to four individual infrared cells. The infrared cells are available in a variety of length and sensitivity which can be chosen to provide peak accuracy for the analysis of high and low levels of sulfur and carbon.
