MAKINO a81 horizontal machining centers are mostly used for cutting and milling of cast iron and light alloys. They feature a spindle that is connected to the motor drive rotor. This achieves minimal vibration levels, and therefore higher productivity. The spindle operates on speeds up to 10,000 RPM. The spindle acceleration to top speed in just 2.4 seconds significantly reduces overall operation time. The a81 can handle workpieces up to 1,500 kg. The design also features a center through, that quickly removes chips, and protect equipment, increasing durability. A 5-axis model a1 is available, if requested. It offers extreme performance, with minimal interruptions, and are meant for systems with high production rates.
