To produce special formulas like mastic asphalt, draining coatings, coloured asphalt, and of anti-noise surfacing, it is crucial to add special additives in bulk which are available in big bags. The additives can be in the form of pelletised products, granules, or coarse powder. A wide range of experiments were conducted with polymers, pelletised fibres, brittle bitumen pellets, and similar products.

The volumetric feeding system provides an economical and simple solution proving it as highly reliable and was developed for pelletised fibre products (compressed cellulose fibres) brands (Arbocell, Viatop, Top cell, Iterfibra or equivalent). The volumetric system provides precision and reliability based on the product's flow characteristic to be metered. The fully automatic and fail system eliminates need of any manpower. The PLC controls the storage, metering and transport of product into the mixer.
