Profiled part dimensional measuring device

Application

The Profile 360 is a real time measuring system for the continuous check of profile dimensions in the production line.

Measuring principle

The system has 4 sensors arranged in 90° steps around the product, enabling a 360° measurement of all profiles. Each measurement takes 4.000 data points. The measuring rate is max. 7.5 profiles per second. If a CAD data set of the product is provided, the specification data as width, thicknesses, radius and angles are taken from this set and compared to the measured data. The deviation is compared with adjusted warning and tolerance levels.

Software

The Computer Aided Inspection (CAI) software enable a continuous comparision of the produced product with the specification. A colour change of the measurement results to yellow and red informs about exceeding of warning and tolerance levels. The software contains a protocol with process data, trend data and statistical results.

Design

The basic system contains a C-Frame made out of stainless steel with possibility to turn it up to 90°. Further more a controller, cable, Firewire hub, power supply and software are part of the basic system. The openeing in the C-frame for the system for 25 to 100mm measuring range is 67mm.

Options

Optional the system can be mounted t an assembly trolley with electric height adjustment to adjust the system in an easy and fast manner situations in different lines.
