The Surfcom 5000 is made by Zeiss and is accurate and fast with a universal body to make all surface measurements easier to operate with. This measures more surfaces in just one step while making it more effective than many other conventional units. The Surfcom 5000 is used in places where accuracy is critical. It is particularly for the auto and mechanical engineering fields.

This unit will measure and engineer lenses, bearings and spindles with accurate levels of around 0.31 nanometers on average. This also uses five lasers on its interferometer to measure the unit to see that it is more accurate. The unit also has a T stylus and a ratio of the measuring range to resolution of approximately 42 million to 1.
