The Xiga 55 ultrafiltration modules which are manufactured by Pentair, provides a treatment method for large-scale surface water, wastewater treatment plant effluent and well water projects with suspended solids levels that reach 50 mg/L. The unit provides a reliable single barrier against bacteria and viruses.

The Xiga 55 modules has an inside-out flow configuration and operate in dead-end, thereby significantly reducing the energy consumption. The solids that are retained on the membrane surface are washed away periodically by means of a permeate backwash which do not invole any chemicals. The unit has 55 m2 membrane surface area. It requires simple and easy maintenance.
