Activated carbon filters are very effective adsorbers achieving extremely low clean gas values. The pollutants to be eliminated hereby accumulate on the surface area of the activated carbon. This property is attributed to the van der Waals forces. In our filters we use activated carbon pellets that are characterized by dust free handling and a high adsorption capacity towards the pollutants responsible for bad odours. This carbon also presents the advantage of being regenerable several times on site: For the regeneration, the carbon is soaked and drained with good quality water whilst still in the filter. By using this procedure, the costs for external regeneration or recycling are reduced to a minimum.

The advantage of our activated carbon is its wide range of application regarding the pollutants to be eliminated and its good removal efficiency, even at very low residual concentrations. There are numerous modifications of activated carbon. Thus it is possible to choose the carbon with the best absorption capacity towards the pollutants. Its successful use does not only depend on the technology itself but also on the know how: It must be clarified which process is best for which application. Especially important is the consideration whether the process is economically and ecologically adapted.
